This is an estimate. The NYC Department of Education doesn't publish how correct answers convert to scaled scores, and the conversion changes from year to year. This calculator uses a model curve that gets steeper near the top, similar to past tests.
On the computer-adaptive SHSAT that starts in fall 2026, scores depend on which questions a student answers correctly and how hard those questions are, so two students with the same number correct can get different scores. Estimates work best for fixed practice tests.
